E-Bike Warranty Policy
E-bike Warranty Eligibility
The warranty is initially issued to the original registered purchaser who possesses valid proof of purchase. Warranty coverage may be transferred only in accordance with the Ownership and Transfer Policy below.
Warranty applies solely to electric bikes, electric scooters, motorcycle-style electric bikes, electric mobility scooters, and kick-scooters purchased from Effibike Inc.. This warranty does not extend to products not specified above. The warranty slip issued and signed at the time of purchase specifies the applicable warranty duration for each covered component and forms part of this warranty policy. Where component-specific warranty periods are stated on the warranty slip, those periods govern the duration of Effibike's limited warranty coverage for that product. Only the registered warranty holder of the e-bike is eligible to request warranted repairs.
Used, demo, open-box, clearance, consignment, or second-hand products may carry different or limited warranty coverage. Any such coverage will be stated on the warranty slip or sales documentation provided at the time of purchase.
Determining whether damage or defect is covered under the warranty shall be in the sole discretion of Effibike Inc..
Covered Components:
This warranty addresses manufacturing defects in materials and workmanship. It includes up to the replacement of defective components listed below:
- Lithium-ion / Lead Acid batteries
- Lithium-ion / Lead Acid Chargers
- Motor
- Throttle
- Controller
- Wiring Harness
- LCD display
- Head light
- Spot light
- Signal light
- Brake light
The lists above specify only the parts included in the warranty. Coverage is limited to the lists specified in the warranty slip. Please refer to the owner's warranty slip for full details.
Exclusions include, but are not limited to:
- Normal wear and tear parts NOT covered: Any damage or deterioration of Covered Components due to normal wear and tear is not covered.
- Items not listed under Covered Components, including seats, plastic housings, scratches, tires, tubes, brake pads, and similar parts.
- Damage from lack of maintenance, accidents, misuse, or abuse. Battery discharge issues caused by failure to charge the battery at least once every three months are not covered under warranty.
- Damage from water, road salt, and external substances.
- Labor for warranty repairs, covered only when performed at the original store of purchase. For repairs that are done on items that are not purchased from Effibike the warranty coverage does not apply.
- Batteries and chargers must be maintained according to Effibike's guidelines and not exposed to freezing temperatures to maintain warranty validity.
- Damage resulting from water ingress due to improper use.
-
Submersion: Riding through deep puddles, floods, or streams where the motor, hub, or battery casing is submerged
-
High-Pressure Cleaning: The use of power washers, high-pressure hoses, or compressed air directed at electrical components or bearing seals.
-
Neglect: Storing the e-bike outdoors in prolonged heavy rain or in high-humidity environments without proper protection. Internal corrosion, "fogging" of displays, or battery terminal oxidation caused by these actions will void the electrical component warranty.

Battery Capacity and Normal Degradation: All batteries naturally experience a gradual reduction in capacity and range due to regular use, charging cycles, age, temperature, riding conditions, and storage practices. This normal deterioration is considered wear and tear and is not covered under warranty. Estimated range shown on the display, voltage readings, or kilometres travelled per charge alone are not sufficient to establish battery capacity loss. Battery capacity must be confirmed through diagnostic testing performed by an authorized Effibike technician.
A battery may qualify for warranty service if testing by an authorized Effibike technician confirms that:
-
Within the first three (3) months from the original purchase date, the battery has lost more than 20% of its original capacity; or
-
After the first three (3) months, but within the applicable battery warranty period, the battery has lost more than 50% of its original capacity.
Battery capacity and eligibility will be determined through Effibike’s diagnostic testing. Coverage does not apply where capacity loss results from misuse, improper charging or storage, freezing temperatures, water damage, physical damage, use of an incompatible charger, lack of required maintenance, or other exclusions stated in this policy. Diagnostic fees may apply if inspection determines that the issue is not covered under warranty.
-
Labor:
- Labor for warranted repairs will be covered for the first 6 months.
- From the 7th to the 12th month, labor for warranted repairs will not be covered.
A component may remain covered under the parts warranty after complimentary labour coverage has expired. In such cases, an approved defective component may be repaired or replaced under warranty while diagnostic, installation, labour, transportation, or other service charges remain the customer's responsibility, unless otherwise required by applicable law or stated on the warranty slip.
Ownership And Transfer Policy:
The warranty is issued in the name of the registered owner and covers warranted repairs when the registered owner is present with the e-bike. Warranty rights are transferable; however, both the current and new owner must be present with the e-bike to complete the transfer. A service fee of $50 + tax will apply to process the transfer. Without a formal transfer of ownership, the warranty will be void if the original owner is not present.
Limitations and Voiding of Warranty:
Warranty may void if the e-bike is altered from its original design or intended use, or if service and parts replacements are not performed by an authorized Effibike dealer/technician.
Warranty Extension:
For details on extended warranty plans, please consult your local Effibike dealer. The Extended Warranty could cover up to nearly all items under the original warranty, adhering to the same terms and conditions.
Repair or replacement of a component under warranty does not restart or extend the original warranty period unless otherwise stated in writing. A replacement component remains covered for the remainder of the original applicable component warranty period, subject to applicable law.
Disclaimer:
Effibike is not responsible for damage resulting from the use of incompatible chargers with lithium models, modifications, or repair/modification performed by a person who is not a authorized Effibike technician.
Warranty Claim Procedures:
A valid proof of purchase is required for all claims. Contact the authorized Effibike dealer where the purchase was made or reach out to our customer support team at sales@effibike.com. After an evaluation performed by an authorized Effibike technician, Effibike may repair, replace, or refurbish defective components, with sole discretion. For parts requiring inspection or repair, the item must be returned to Effibike or an authorized dealer, with shipping costs borne by the customer.
The bike owner must be present when making any warranty claim and must provide a valid government-issued photo ID for verification. This step is mandatory to confirm ownership and prevent unauthorized warranty requests. No other individual may claim warranty service on behalf of the registered owner listed on the warranty form.
